South African Braais

A South African Braai is very similar to Argentine and Uruguayan Grills. Embers are made in a box, and when ready are pushed under the grill. While the grate can be placed in different spots depending on what temperature you intend to cook at, temperature is mainly controlled by how many embers are pushed under the grate. The one shown, complete with just about all the bells and whistles available is designed to fit into a wall or masonry surround, has a door to keep out the rain, a box on the side to keep rotisserie motors out of the rain, a tray to receive charcoal, adjustable height grill grate, an embermaker on the right side, and even includes a potlie pot hook to suspend a dutch oven from. NorCal Ovenworks imports these South African Braai from JetMaster South Africa.
